The accompanying juvenile diabetes DVDs are unique, engaging and very instructive. The special focus is underserved communities. Many professionals in the medical field, educators and professionals of other disciplines have participated and made important contributions to this program. It was developed in close consultation with state health educational guidelines for schools, and benefited from numerous meetings with various district personnel.

Gee-Mart, Inc. recognizes that not only does diabetes deal harshly with the average White American, but for various reasons it poses an even greater threat to the underserved people of other ethnicities and cultures. This disease has reached near pandemic proportions among Latino Americans, African Americans, Native Americans, Asian Americans, and people of Appalachian heritage.
